Produce Donations

Nutritious fruits and vegetables are an essential part of a healthy diet and are in great demand at most community food agencies and soup kitchens. If you are interested in donating fresh produce or herbs to a local emergency food assistance organization, check these resources first:

• Find a Local PAR Committee: PAR has over 200 local campaigns across the nation. Check this list of a program in your area.
• Find a Food Agency: Feeding America has over 200 member agencies across the nation. Check this list to locate an agency in your area.

Financial and In-Kind Support

Currently in its 15th year, Plant A Row has more than 200 local programs and a rapidly expanding network of volunteer committees that need support and coordination to keep their community service growing. Funding is currently needed to provide educational materials, garden markers, produce pledge cards, training manuals, a toll-free telephone help line and other services to help direct committee volunteers and the public.

Volunteer training and support is essential to help ensure community volunteers are well equipped to work with donors, food agencies, service organizations and the hungry population in a sustainable effort to reduce hunger in local communities.
