Canadian GWA Members, it’s time for our annual winter meeting!

New for 2013: “Business of Garden Writing” sessions — helping you make your garden writing a paying habit.

The registration deadline is March 1....but this meeting always fills up quickly, so don’t delay!

  • When: Saturday, March 16, 2013
  • Where: Canada Blooms at the Direct Energy Centre, 100 Princes’ Blvd., Toronto, Ontario
  • What: Guided tour before the crowds arrive, networking time with fellow garden writers, “Business of Garden Writing” information sessions, and networking lunch.
  • How to Register: Register using the attached form by MARCH 1.

8:00AM to 9:00AM: Canada Blooms Tour
Private tour for garden writers. Get your pictures before the crowds arrive. Talk as you walk & network with colleagues.

9:00AM to 9:30AM: Networking in Auditorium

9:30AM to 10:30AM: Business of Garden Writing: Session 1
Keynote: Garden writing is more than a hobby. Our speaker, Larry Hodgson, a full-time professional garden writer (and GWA Vice President), tells how he turned his garden writing into a paying habit.

10:45AM to 11:45AM: Business of Garden Writing: Session 2
Panel: Hear from four garden writers about how they use online technologies such as Twitter, Facebook, blogging, and much more to cultivate readers. Not sure how to best use limited on-line time? This session is for you. Panel members: Niki Jabbour, Cristina de Silva, Helen Battersby, Kat Fox.

12:00PM to 12:30PM: The Word from Blooms
Our hosts tell us what’s new at Canada Blooms.

12:00PM to 12:30PM: Region VII Business Meeting

12:30PM to 2:00PM: Networking Lunch
Have lunch, have a drink and catch up with other garden writers.

2:00PM to 2:45PM: Words from Fiskars, our major sponsor
