The Cook's Garden has the largest selection of lettuce and salad greens in the world. I'll discuss personal favorites and demonstrate ways to prepare seasonal salads with recipes from my cookbook. Focus will be on mesclun mixed salad greens, the easiest to grow from seed to table in just 30 days.
Description:
At the very heart of every kitchen garden are the seeds. As a cook and a gardener, determining what to plant each spring is also time to reflect on what the gardener likes to cook. Planting a garden is a source of inspiration for most cooks. Growing a successful cooks garden doesn't take a lot of time, trouble or space if you know what to plant. In this lecture, I'll introduce my favorite seed varieties, that I've discovered from more than two decades in the seed business, and give some ideas for how to grow and cook, fresh from the garden.
