Thursday, August 16 | 9:45AM - 10:45AM
Hydroponics is a hot trend in horticulture! People of all ages and income levels are trying water culture to grow edibles and houseplants in mineral-enriched water or in mid-air, sometimes even adding fish for the fertilizer. These methods can be used indoors or out and year-round, adding to our fresh food supply and food security – especially in urban environments. The techniques are not necessarily new, but with new applications. Sue will distinguish between the various types of water culture for homeowners and small-scale growers, and review current research and future trends.
