Cathy Craig is employed in asset management and taxation for individuals. Her specialties include: self-employed individuals, maximizing retirement savings for those over 50, assisting clients in transferring pensions and IRAs upon the death of a family member, establishing college savings plans, maximizing tax savings through full utilization of the new tax laws, assisting taxpayers in understanding retirement plan options and helping individuals invest their money profitably. Cathy also founded the Pacific Bulb Society in 2002, with the focus of learning how to integrate growing bulbs into general gardening schemes successfully. PBS is a social organization with an emphasis on education.


Rosalind Creasy is a garden writer, photographer and landscape designer. She has published numerous books including: The Complete Book of Edible Landscaping and Cooking From the Garden. Today, Rosalind continues to share her knowledge of gardening and cooking by writing, lecturing nationwide, appearing on television and radio shows and working as a consultant to restaurants and seed companies. Besides her books, she has been published in several national magazines, written a syndicated column for the Los Angeles Times and is a contributing editor for Country Living Gardener magazine. Kathleen Downey is the Executive Director of the Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI) based in Eugene, Oregon. Ms. Downey coordinates the work of OMRI to provide professional, independent and transparent review of materials such as fertilizers and pest control products allowed in organic food production.


Jerry Erickson is Vice President of Research and Development for SoilSoup, Inc. Mr. Erickson is a well-seasoned entrepreneur and inventor of the SoilSoup Bio-Blender and nutrient solutions. He is a product developer, automated equipment designer, engineer and inventor. Jerry leads the research and development department for SoilSoup and has been developing products in the farming and horticulture industries for the past six years.


Steven A. Frowine is Vice President of Horticulture of International Garden Products. His main mission is to ensure that all of IGP’s plant products and brands are of the highest quality in the industry and are recognized as such by discriminating U.S. gardeners. He is sought-out throughout the United States as a horticultural expert, has given hundreds of talks across the U.S. and has made various TV appearances on programs like Martha Stewart Living and HGTV.


Jeff Gibson has been with the Ball Horticultural Company for 11 years. He began in sales for PanAmerican Seed calling on all PAS NA wholesales accounts. He has been directly involved in the development of various trade & consumer-oriented product marketing campaigns, such as the Wave Petunia, DragonWing Begonia, Nature’s Décor, and Ball Seed’s Simply Beautiful.


Elaine R. Ingham, Ph.D., is currently an Associate Research Professor in the Department of Forest Science at Oregon State University. She earned her doctorate degree from Colorado State University. She is also President and Director of Research at Soil Foodweb Inc. Her research focuses on what organisms are present in the soil and on the foliage of plants, which organisms benefit which types of plants, which organisms harm plants and how these organisms can be managed to grow plants with the least expensive inputs into the system while maintaining soil fertility. Dr. Ingham is known as an energetic and easy-to-understand speaker who explains what life in the soil is all about.


Jim Long is an herbalist, author and professional gardener. He has appeared on numerous regional and national television programs, including "Home Matters with Susan Powell" (Discovery), "Today at Home" (HGTV), and "Way to Grow" (HGTV) and segments on "P. Allen Smith Gardens" (HGTV). His business (Long Creek Gardens) and gardens have been featured in Gourmet, Southern Living, Better Homes & Gardens’ Deck and Landscape Planner, Country Gardens, Country Living Gardener, Garden Design and numerous other magazines.


Allan Mandell comes to the world of gardening by way of the fine arts. Ten years ago he fulfilled a lifelong dream by immersing himself in the contem-plative garden realm of Kyoto, Japan, for a full cycle of the seasons. Since returning to the US, his garden photography has frequently been featured in national and international magazines and books. He is the recipient of a 2002 Garden Globe Award of Achievement for his photographic portfolio and has previously been awarded three Quill & Trowel Awards for his portfolio, magazine cover and book photography. He has five books published as sole photographer including Naturalistic Gardening and Artists in Their Gardens.


Linda Plato is a Seattle horticulturist specializing in European landscape design. She has a background with Microsoft and is an instructor at Edmonds Community College teaching computer and garden-related courses. Linda has worked for Elisabeth C. Miller Botanical Garden, implementing elements of their inaugural plant awards program, including Web site development, publicity and promotions.


Debra Prinzing is a Master Gardener in charge of container design at the MG Bellevue Demonstration Garden and has studied landscape horticulture and design at South Seattle Community College. Her work can be seen regularly in Seattle Homes & Lifestyles, where she is a contributing editor, and weekly in the Thursday Home & Garden section of The Everett Herald. She is the editor of Garden Notes, the quarterly newsletter for members of the Northwest Horticultural Society. Her work has appeared in Country Gardens, Victorian Homes, Garden Showcase and Sunset magazines.


Josh Schneider is a lifelong gardener who credits his grandmother with teaching him about plants. In 1996, he established Mourning Doves Farms, a retail nursery specializing in rare and unusual plants in his hometown of Mahomet, Illinois. During the past four years Josh has traveled throughout Central America, Europe, the United Kingdom and South Africa to collect new plant specimens. He has given hundreds of talks to trade and consumer groups on a variety of topics including container gardening, new plant varieties and their uses and ornamental grasses.
