You Are Invited:
Join noted garden and landscape photographer Alan Detrick for a special workshop on digital garden photography at the beautiful Matthaei Botanical Garden and Conservatory at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Limited to fifteen students, each attendee will receive individual attention during an afternoon photo shoot. A lecture on digital basics completes the first half day.
The next morning, the subject is digital workflow from capture to computer. Whether you are in the beginning stages of digital or have been shooting for years, Alan’s professional experience, insights and ideas make this a worthwhile event for everyone.
About Our Instructor:
Alan and Linda Detrick are the owners of a stock photography business specializing in horticulture and related subjects. Alan’s award winning work has appeared in most major publications including Modern Maturity, Natural History, the New York Times, Newsweek, Prentice Hall, Reader’s Digest, Sports Illustrated and Sunset.
An experienced instructor, Alan has lectured and led photography workshops for a select group of professional organizations and public gardens including the American Horticultural Society, Garden Club of America, the Garden Writers Association; The New York Botanical Garden, Chanticleer Garden, Brookside Gardens, and Longwood Gardens.
As a noted garden and landscape photographer, his work has been featured in The Perfect Home: Leading Residential Landscape Professionals and on the covers of the Landscape Design Answer Book, Garden Design, Horticulture, The American Gardener, Garden Style and Woman’s Day Gardening and Outdoor Living as well as posters, note cards and billboards. He is the sole photographer for “Beyond the Garden, Easy and Elegant Rose Designs” and the author and photographer of “Nature Up Close”, a macro photography book available from Timber Press in November 2008.
