Optional Pre-Meeting Events
March 2, 2008
The Philadelphia Sketch Club, host to the exhibit, “Art of the Garden” has graciously asked the GWA to be a part of its opening reception on March 2, from 1:30 PM to 6:00 PM.
This active club, founded in 1860, is America’s oldest continuing artist organization and N.C. Wyeth, Maxfield Parrish, and Alexander Calder have been among its members. The exhibition is contemporary and will complement our visit to the Flower Show. It is located an easy walking distance from the Pennsylvania Convention Center at 235 Camac Street between 12th and 13th streets off Spruce. This is about five blocks south of the Pennsylvania Convention Center at 12th and Arch.
There will be wine and light hors d’oeuvres. A great afternoon to meet and interact.
Schedule
1:30p: Guided tour with the director of the Philadelphia Sketch Club
2:00p: Wine and hor d’oeuvres reception
Wine and hors d’oeuvres reception with the opening of the new exhibit on “Flowers”
4:00p: Reception & Exhibition closes
If you plan on attending this event, you must RSVP by checking the box on the registration form.
GWA would like to thank the Philadelphia Sketch Club for inviting members to this special event!
